Law is empowerment. I used to feel quite vulnerable and scared before I enrolled myself into a law school. I wasn’t always really interested in law, I liked literature, Shakespeare, Robert Frost. But my parents believed I should pursue law and indeed, what Lord does, he does for the best. I have seen myself and my personality; improving. My speaking skills improved, my writing skills improved. Knowing our rights gives us a sense of security, and acquainting us with our duties grants us a sense of maturity at the same time. My vision is to contribute in the field of legal technology in a way so as to ease complex legal processes for both lawyers and clients, at the same time.

Leadership is very important to me as I have almost always identified myself as a leader in groups such as my friends and cousins. An important aspect of becoming a leader or a manager is to empathize with your employees, your group, and rather burdening your team with work, first do it yourself and teach them how to do the same. The reason I chose to do things differently was because I am very inspired by the poem by Robert Frost, namely; The road not taken, and specifically the lines from there; Two roads diverged in the yellow woods and I, I took the less one travelled by. I never aspired to become a lawyer, why? Because I don’t enjoy following the traditional routes to careers. Thanks to Allah , our Lord, I came across Legal Technology and found this highly intriguing since I am tech savyy.

My biggest learning in my personal journey is that failure is not an end, rather it is the path to success, one would not really value success in the absence of failure. What failure does is either divert you to the right path, or acquaint you with your mistakes which is very important as on Abraham Maslowe’s hierarchy of needs, to achieve the highest level, which is Self-Actualization, one needs to be aware of his potential and weaknesses. I have also learned that at times, the last key in a bunch can open the lock, so one should never give up because right when you are about you, try again, it might be your last key to open the lock of success for you! My greatest strength is my faith, my belief, my love for Lord, my hope in him and my fear from him. The first few help me and support me no matter where I am, how broken I am, they help me get going and teach me to not give up and not become hopeless, because whatever Lord does, he does for the best. I am very much inspired by the two verses of Holy Qur’an, my religious book: But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and its bad for you. And Allah knows while you know not. My fear from Lord prevents me from falling into malicious practises and dishonesty. My other strenghts are my creative writing skills which helps me get identified a writer and aids me to convey my ideas and thoughts into a better way. An extraordinary fact about me is that I work best when I am working on two, three projects at the same time, for instance, I am running a UK company of legal tech, an events and conferences company on the other hand and then I also have an amazing idea for a short story going on, so I like to work on multiple projects at a time, if I only have one thing to do, then I wander off because I can’t focus on one thing at a time, I have an attention span of a few seconds. The perfect scenario for legal innovation of the future is to promote roles like that of legal engineering, legal technologists, legal designers. A lot of law firms are already hiring for such roles so gradually, all law firms will adopt this method and a lot of people would aspire to join this field for a career. Besides, document automation is rapidly growing and will be largely used by almost every lawyer and law firm to save time and costs. What needs to change in order to make this scenario happen? Being in India where the majority of the lawyers are still very resistant to change if we talk about adopting technology, the digital revolution in the field of law is much required. The required change is necessary as we already know that AI has entered the industries and alike GPT-3 which seems to take over the role of copywriters, the days not seem far (especially since Covid-19 arrived and legal tech thrived in its presence) when the role of lawyers, too, can be taken over by it. Therefore, lawyers need to adopt technology into their legal profession and walk hand in hand with it.

The top three qualities future legal professionals will need are:

#1 Knowledge and expertise of navigating through various online platforms; #2 Creative and innovative approach to problem solving; #3 Presentation ability (since things are quickly shifting to remote world). Personalities, that inspire me are: #1 Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. , our prophet, who despite of facing so many trials and challenges in his life, never gave up and beared everything with patience. #2 My Dad: who, by the help of Lord, constantly inspires me by narrating stories of successful people and of his own, and supports me in all my ventures. He wants me to become a Judge but he does not force me, rather, he helps me in pursuing my passion and gives valuabe advice which helps me in succeeding. I have failed a lot in my life but he always bears it and tells me to keep going on.
